[Day 1]
We arrived at Kota Kinabalu in the morning, after camping in school overnight and taking a bus to Johor then plane there. Haha. FYI, it's my 1st time taking the plane and thanks to Steph and Li Ping who offered me the window seat! 1st day went by with lots of travelling around. We had a van which drove us around. Stopped at a huge provision shop and brought many weird stuff like dried sotong, can tunas etc. Haha. Later on we lunched at a restaurant and visited a chocolate shop nearby. The chocolate shop sold freaking nice chocolates! I should have gotten some! Then it was back to travelling up and up and up the mountain. We arrived at the orphanage hostel super late, so we had a change in plan with the orphans. Checked in a my bunk mates were Steph and Li Ping! Haha. I totally stinked up the room with my dried sotong but managed to purify the air with my OXYGEN (deoderant) again!
We had quite a lot of free time to do our stuff. So we CAM WHORE!
Dinner was with the orphanage kids and they were great! We played Cherades with them as well and it was sooo funny! Haha. We sang songs to them, they sang songs to us.
All I can say was the day ended on a good note!
[Day 2]
It's the day we began our trek!!! The weather there was like free air-con already and as you climb up, it actually gets colder and colder. To add on, it began to rain sometime soon after we started our climb. Trek trek trek. I think I've pushed myself very well for 3/4 of the route then somehow I just got very breathless (the air actually gets thinner and thinner as you go up) so I joined Darryl and Triton who were behind. LOL. Found out that Darryl got cramps ('cause he spammed the kangkong) and Triton had altitude sickness. So I actually for once, went faster than them! YAY! Haha. However, though I was going much faster than them, the group infront were nowhere in sight either. So I was actually trekking alone for like 45mins? I dedicate Miss Independent by Kelly Clarkson to myself. LOL. Finally I reached a hut and waited for Darryl, Triton and Mr Yaw. As we got higher, Triton's altitude sickness got worse. So Mr Yaw actually stuffed Triton's bag into his bag and climbed up! Wa seh! We wanted to go to Pendent Hut but somehow we got lost and went into Laban Rata where all of us were going to have our buffet dinner. We were all ZONKED OUT!
Fortunately after an hour or so, the rest of them joined Triton and I back! So glad to see all of them again. Also, the buffet dinner was like super awesome. They had mushroom soup which taste like Delifrance's, good red meats etc.
Haha. Hongda is forever eating and Eugene is carrying his gay bag!
Back at Pendent Hut, we had some via ferrata rope course lesson and then lights off. I think I was one of the latest one to sleep 'cause my contacts were screaming to jump off my eyes but I was scared to go down the toliet myself! That was a big mistake unfortunately.
[Day 3]
It was the submit climb day. All the girls woke up at 1.30am which was the time we should be eating our breakfast already. My contacts were super dry and I stuffed one whole bread of peanut butter down my throat. Then it was the begininng of hell. Once we hit the rocks, I couldn't ta han already. The bread was like choke and I could hardly move already! But I pushed on until I climbed my 3rd flight of stairs then I gave up and wanted to go back to the hut. But going back wasn't easy as well. My headlight were quite dim, I could hardly see because my contacts were stinging so I slipped many many times and once I slide down 1 row of people until a caucasian lady caught me! Back the hut, it was already near 3am? My head was like super dizzy but there wasn't anyone in the living room! Triton, Jolin, Zhun Jian and Uncle Anthony were in the hut though, but all of them were sleeping. So just like a drunkard, I staggered around the hut to find my contact case, so I can finally remove it and have a rest! 9am, 4 of us plus uncle Anthony set off! The trek down was sooooooo shiok! Haha. We talked and talked and talked, ate and ate and ate, drinked the salty water and drinked the salty water. Then finally we reached the starting point again! Haha. Took a #1 photo! Haha. 'Cause for once, we were the 1st to arrive! 5 mins or less after we reached there, it began to pour! It was quite lucky for us but not so for the rest! The 4 of us checked into D'Villa and got a really long bath! There was this huge huge insect/bug which "flew" into my sandals! Triton used the hot water to scald and drown the bug and I took lots of toliet paper to grab and flush it down the toliet bowl. Amen.
The estimated time for the rest to reach D'villa was 7pm and we had to wait about 4-5 hours for them and we have nothing to play! So we began to hallucinate. Zhun Jian was the 1st to point out that the celling looks like poker cards and Triton was destroying the beds! Haha. Looks like only Jolin and I were normal. Then we went to the 'restaurant' next door to eat Maggie Noodles. When we entered the man was like, "Xiao xing hua!" (Be careful of the wet floor) and he had this Malaysian slang so it sounded like, be careful of the flower! (xiao xing hua4) And the funniest thing was they had a picture of the Rafflesia flower at the entrance! LOL.
We waited until around 8.30pm and decided that we were really very hungry and tired of waiting. So we decided to have our dinner 1st. Just around that time, the lady told us that the rest were stuck at the other side due to a landslide. They only came back at around 9.45 - 10pm. So having rested for so long, I really tried my best to help them carry all their stuff, warm them etc. The day just flew by like that...
[Day 4]
Day 4 was the Hotspring and Waterfall day! Yay!
Let the photos do the talking. Only Fairus and I went to embark the waterfall trail!
I also realised that I can take heat much better than I can withstand cold! Haha. I was already freezing when we reach Pendent Hut. But hot spring, no kick! Haha.
^Sitting in the hottest hot tub!
There was a souvneir shop there too and I brought a really nice photoframe there!
Next, we checked into a resort-like house. I'm going to skip the room stuff, because my room was infested with ants and ya... Because it is a house stay, we could watch cable tv there! So shiok! 3 days without TV already! After that, the masters allowed us to visit their plantation as well! Can you believe it? They actually have a plantation in their backyard. LOL. Unfortunately, it wasn't anything I expected. There were many horse poops everywhere! EEK! And I could hardly see any colourful fruits around. They even have a swamp below. Haha. But finally when we reach the end, there were durians waiting for us!
^ Told you Hongda is always eating. LOL.
