OBS 2006!
I'm back from Outward Bound!

A 5 day course (19 - 23 June 2006) , 5 days in tents, 5 days of Puala Ubin water! This had been the longest camp I've been so far and it's great to be out of home for more than half a week but I DID missed home. Tip to my readers, when you are homesick, think of homework and it'll erase your thoughts. Haha. Moving on, I was assigned to Raffle Group - Lynette, Sabrina, Xin Di, , Ming Fang, Jun Pei , Audrey, Daniel, Yang Zhi, , Stozer, Izwan, Faizal, Shafiq, Azlan, Kalis and Illya.

First Day

We took an OBS boat from the Getty to our new campsite (Camp 2). It was raining at that time. We settled down and broke into our groups. Everything was moving so slowly at that time. Angela did a welcome speech and we met our Facilitator - Daphne. We surrendered our stuff and did those introduction. Blah blah blah. Everyone was given a post and I was the Medic! Haha. It's like why not? We checked out our storeroom and packed the stuff. We learned how to pitch a tent and basic belaying skills. Still boring so I'm going to zoom into our dinner time. Had to cook rice, red beans and peanuts in a short time while the guys pitched tents for us. First meal only, so we weren't expert in it. Our fire was apparently too small and the rice could not cook in time! When everyone gathered and took their share. There was still quite a lot of rice left so Ming Fang actually forced Stozer and Yangzhi to take the remaining serving. HEHE. So funny, the 2 guys choking on the uncooked rice. Afterwhich, we had to pack our stuff to bring to our new campsite the next day. 1 of the instructor (rather nice looking but SHORT) rang the fire alarm and all of us had to assemble. Light off at 11pm.

Second Day

Woke up rather early after transporting all the bags to the safe boat and kayaks to the beach. My kayaking partner was Izwan. The weather initially wasn't very favourable so Angela and Daphne taught us the paddling basics, capsized drills etc. When we got into the water we had to do a life vest checked and it was hot! I mean the water was warmer than when you are out of the water. Then got into kayak and paddle, paddle, paddle. I did had problem coordinating with Izwan for he was not from UG and had difficulty with the timing. WAKAKA. Nevermind, I was patient. Ate my snacks on the kayak. I was glad that we were always catching up with Audrey and Daniel (the navigators). Reached our new campsite at HDB at lunch time. Pitched tent (with stones and twines connected with other tents). Ate lunch and proceeded to the Quarry. We had to build a raft with some poles, ropes and barrels. Initially I wasn't very keen to build it because it means killing my brain cells. HEHE. Luckily Daniel suggested something and we went on improving his idea. Then we tie and we build. Our raft was named, "Stamford...Comfort". This is by far the first time I felt like Raffles watch had worked together which is why we won the Raft contest! Stozer was our pilot and he was so funny! Remember to tighten your seat belt! On the other hand Raleigh's raft was kinda unsafe after they failed our SHAKE test (The 1st unofficial shake test was like we bent down and pretend to lift their raft up and then drop it and shake our bodies!) so they weren't allowed to enter the Quarry with it. The fun just kept going on. We sat on our raft and paddled forward. Then Daphne or some other guys started to push everyone down. I saw Daphne attempted to push me down but HAHA I caught her doing that first. However, the next thing I knew, Yang Zhi went to push the other end of the barrel I was siting on and I fell off! IT WAS SO SHIOK! The water was so clean and refreshing!!! Was swimming and paddling in the water. WEEE! Afterwards, we went to put back all the raft materials and Raleigh joined in. I got to dived into the water once more! FUN! Mei Qiao and I were trying to swim with our liftvest on. Audrey dodged me into the water! WoA. That was shocking man. I managed to dodge a few more people. Pardon my wildness! After that, we went back to the campsite. Lynette, Audrey and I went into the sea and *AHEM AHEM*. Sheesh. So much for my bath. Lemme just zoomed into dinner time. Cooked curry chicken maggie mee and lots of sardine. Stozer along with all the It's Showtime participants were really sad and stuff, because they missed their chance to watch their performance at home with their family members on TV and the results were unknown to them until the end of the camp. I'm quite sure that the feeling ain't nice. Turned in at 10pm. Woke up at 11pm for scentry. My arm muscles were all aching from the kayaking and I could barely move! So uncomfortable. Just patrol a little and look around. Afterwhich I laid on the blue tarb and napped. HEHE. Went back to my tent at 12mn after calling the guys' to wake up for the next shift...

Third Day

Set off really early (around 5.50am). Everywhere was rather dark for the sun had not rise. We carried and tranposted all the necessary stuff and took off. It's going to be a long day I guess. Izwan and I kayak and kayak and kayak. We came across some mangrove and it was DIRTY as compared to the day before at the open sea. Oh well. We had to race against time as the water level was decrease by the minute. Once the water level drops to mud level, we are going to have a very very hard time carrying our kayaks over the waist level mud. Luckily, we made it on time! We just had to climb over some mud, but it was alright. Something bad also happened at this point of time. I finally realised something...(WAKAKA. I know Mei Qiao is laughing now!) We continued our sea expedition and blah blah blah. We came to this particular place where there's a stall selling coconut (however the owner wasn't there at that time). Izwan and I were the traffic controllers. A few bicycles came on the road and I had to blow my whistle and made sure the road is clear. =) Blah blah blah. We returned to the open sea! The current was rather strong. FINALLY we reached camp 2 again! Washed the paddles and ourselves. LOVED IT. Then I washed the life vests and so on. Need to pack for the next day's trip immediately. SO CHIONG right? About 1 hour later, we assembled again and procedured to our new campsite - Camp 1. It was like a palace when we reached there, very pretty. There's even a 24hrs nurse in the "clinic" there. We did Rock Climbing today! Although I've been to High Element a couple of times, I haven't done rock climbing before! Initially I wasn't very enthusiastic, was just slacking around after being "scolded" or lectured by Daphne for using the roller bandage for nothing and it could have been useful for any emergency. It's totally my fault but I simply missed SJAB too much! I was like wrapping my fingers and thinking of ANCO. AWWWW. Anyways, initially I thought my rock climbing partner was Izwan but in the end Medic and My Dick partnered each other and I ended up partnering Ellya. I wasn't very particular about this though so I successfully climbed up! YIPEE! Wakaka. Throughout this rock climbling activity I only got more active towars the end. The funniest one was Xin Di and Yangzhi's climb. Yangzhi was like having big time difficulty with him shoes and height. Poor thing, kena scolded by Daphne. Moving on, we went for a decent dinner and pitched our tent. Bathed and stuff. Met up with Daphne to write our journal by the small shack-like place before heading for supper. Afterwards all the land expedition leaders had to stay back to discuss which route to take and stuff. I accompanied Lynette (which I didn't regret) and helped up in the map reading and stuff. I was awfully shocked when I saw the long long long route that we had to take. We overshot our planning time which was 11pm so we decided to wake up at 5am in the morning and continue our planning. It was all worthed it.

Fourth Day

Treking for the whole day with all our stuff. I wasn't sure if i could make it though this day because the journey really looked long on the map! It could take us 8hrs of hiking to cover 15km++ I'm like OMG. We reached our 1st checkpoint rather fast and had to do an activity which was to sing a series of at least 5 songs from the 90s. We did "I believe I can fly" (classic among our watch), our school song, "Shape of my Heart", "1 Love" and 1 more song which I forgot already. We did took some breaks during interval so the intial part was alright. Suddenly missed BSB a lot! Audrey, Lynette and I were like singing "The Call". Totally rocks! Had lunch at some part of Puala Ubin where they sell great seafood and coconuts. Tralala. When we reached our 2nd checkpoint which was by the beach, we couldn't find the checkpoint! So our forfeit was to play Human Entangle without talking! Our first attempt failed and we took 1hour to complete the 2nd attempt! LOL! IMAGINE! Smelling each other's sweat for 1 whole hour! SHIOK MAN! HAHAHA. Audrey and my hand were tied like a dead knot and soon we realised that there were actually 2 circles. HAAHA. I loved this game.We continued hiking and encouraging each other, doing all the cheers we could think of for the next 4 hours or so. `Weeeee. The 4th checkpoint was the "Traffic Jam" game. Quite nice and we managed to complete the task within 10 minutes! Reached Camp 1 after doing a Raffles Cheer. Although we were later than Raleigh, I'm certain that we had more fun than them! Na ne na ne boo boo! Cleaned the storeroom and when to bathe. I was smelling so nice and yet I had to go up the flight of stairs and cooked. I wasn't very willing to go near the fire at first because I was simply smelling too good! Hai. Looks like it was inevitable. Ate curry maggie mee with mushrooms. Blah blah blah. Slept after that.

Last Day

Woa. So fast. It's the last day of the camp. Felt really sad man. Because it means it's time for homework and the fun is over! Haha. We did all the packing necessary and brought it to the kayak shack. Daphne wanted to meet us but it was raining so we took shelter at the opposite of the trainer's bunks. We played some "Shoo! Shee!" game. It's something like "Pin Pong Pian" game actually. Those who kena sabotage would be drawn on by a black marker! Haha. Sharfiq's one was the funniest. The guys was "raping" him and drew him a moutache and a side burn. Totally Hiltler! -Does the Germany Salute- I "gabra" once and had my arm drawn on the word, "KICK ME". I loved it, thanks to Sab! After that Daphne read us a story called, "The Missing Piece". It's a kiddy book with a lot of meanings. I wonder how young kids can understand that. Well, it's time to say goodbye soon. Kranji did many cheers for the trainers, ourselves as well as for others. It was so touching when Ellya cried! Omg. Although he was the only Macpherson guy within the 30 odd people, we took care of him and he took care of us. Took one last photo and we are off! Mei Qiao and I were so "kiasu". First one to jump out of the boat and boarded onto the bus. Had Sakae Sushi Buffet with Mei Qiao! SIMPLY SHIOK MAN! First time I ate at Sakae. SHIOK SHIOK. Spent about $18 in total. Expensive but worth it. =)

so come on, tell me.

Advance NCO Camp 2006!
WOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I'm back from ANCO! 1 word to describe the camp - MEMORABLE! Tralalas! It's a 4 day and 3 nights camp, the longest camp I've attend so far. Everything kinda moved so fast (including our movements!). Now lemme blog it in detail (it's goanna be WORDY!)

9 JUNE 2006

Reached Damai (the campsite) rather early because my Dad fetched us (Beatrice, Rachel, Siew Ling and Hannah) there. I was already kinda shag because I slept at 1am+ to complete my MOI lesson plan and packing. So blah blah blah and we started to fall in. I got to say, for this camp my bag was rather inorganized and my plastic bag which holds my project was falling apart! BOO!
Found out that my NCO incharge is SGT SERENE! WAA HOO! I mean she was the best commander 2 years back in FAC. DO you also know that in my group there's 4 No.1 who participated in FAC 2006? Yup. Serene, Shi Yu, Lin Qian and myself! Girl power.
Moving on, we checked into our "hotel" which was not cleaned by the "hotel maids". Therefore we had to do a lot of unpacking, cleaning and arranging tables. I just hated it when they say they want us to standardise where exactly we put our things with the other 2 bunks. Sheesh.
After which we proceeded to the AVA room which was also at the 4th level (what?!) for a talk on Confident Speaking. It was a hilarious talk and I totally think that it's POSITIVE (with the slang)! The way Ah Qiang Sir present his talk, SUPERB!
Then it was lunch. As far as I can remember, the rice was HARD and RUBBERY. Eek. But there's one consolation, after meals you can march! WOO HOO! No need or run, or should I say, cannot run! Christine likey.
Up next was communication skills at the AVA room again. Sir Hakim kinda didn't arose much attention as Wei Qiang Sir but HAHA, towards the end he needed 1 male and 1 female volunteer. So Sir Zhen Shun picked Stenphel and Rachel! HAHAHAHA. I tell you, I was laughing my ass off.
Their short skit was like:

Rachel: Why you don't like me?
Stenphel: Because you went out with other guys
Rachel: Why I cannot go out wih other guys?

HAHAHA. Rachel teh teh voice damn fit this character. HAHAHA. But Rachel do have her way of getting herself a good laugh. She picked me to be the next actress up on the stage. Sze Him's reaction was HUGE, she screamed. HAHA. Felt bad because it should have been Jane who went up the stage. Freedy and Jane! So on my part, our script was boring la, it's a story of 2 best friends where one would be left out and the other guilty. We had many NGs! HAHA. Freedy kept forgetting his line.
At around 3pm, we were given 5 minutes to change into Full U. It's Footdrill time! Footdrill was very bland. We kept on doing turning drills, dressing to the right, open dressing, marching and gerak. It seems that's the only thing we did for the 2.5hours.
Had Dinner, rice was not cooked well again and the FUN BEGUN! WOOoooooooOOO! Team building games, just rock my socks. We went to Priscilla's station first to play the inability game. I couldn't walk, Sze Him couldn't talk and Reuben couldn't see, so we all joined forces to carry each other across the other side. Next station was the communication game with the Principal and the Vice Principal. HAHA. This game was actually had extra help from Sir Zhen Shun. HAHA. He was like video camcording the answer then he showed SGT Serene and Serene was like hinting to us. HAHA. I moved the cards like I was playing poker and we got the correct answer! It's fun when you cheat. HEHE. Then we headed for the number crossing game. The left foot can only touch the odd numbers while the right foot can only touch the even numbers on the ground. So at times we had to do some Yoga and split. Also, Stenphel held a lady's (Joan's) hand for the first time! How exciting is that?! HAHA. Then we headed for this balloon game where you have to keep a balloon between the person infront of you while you walk through an obstacle. Reuben's BALLoon dropped all the way down to meet his brother. HAHA. The funniest part is when Craven have to use his butt to scoop the balloon up to Reuben's tummy. As for Stenphel, his balloon flew and he was like playing Chapteh to get the balloon back in place. Finally we played the most thrilling game - The Dark room. It was like the night walk I played 2 years back. In the dark room, I was like tickled and wacking people. I lost Sze Him's hand once and I think I held onto someone elses' hand for some time before I realised that it's not Sze Him's! AHHAAH. So embarrassing! Then someone came between Linqian and I. HAHA. That lady was "desperate" man. Soon it was light off, couldn't really sleep but it was only the first night!

10 June 2006

Woke up, brush up and got ready for PT. Sir Derrick taught us the 5 BX and the push up was tough! I so totally cannot do pumpings! Hai. Today is a sad day. Right after PT, myself and some other NDP personnel was force to have a quick breakfast, changed into Full U and be seperated from the rest of our group. It's sad. I just didn't want to part with my group. I know I sound so totally dramatic, but you should have seen me. Practically mentally falling apart. Hai. I was so desperate that I was sending Telepathy SMSes to my section mates. Anyone received it? But at least the lunch was good, Chicken chop or sort. It was raining, my Full U was dirtied.
Returned to school much earlier than the rest. Had to cook dinner with noodles, rice, sweet potatoes, eggs, long beans and fruits. It was super no taste as we were only given salt as taste enhancer. I only ate the noodles (as in noodles just cooked in water) because our sweet potato was swallowed by another group and I don't like the rest of the food. When the rest came back (finally!) NDP personnels got reprimanded again. Sir Bo Bo was like, "In school so long already still so slow! Rest not enough ah?! You all enjoying but your group mates hike until so tiring!" I was like so hurt! DUDE! I was mentally torturing myself, and they were physically tortured. Both equally painful. BOO! Kinda got over it soon. Then supper, felt an awful distance between me and my section. SIGHS. Something bad happened too but not going to mention here so ya...
YES! I kena night scentry duty! I paired up with Bao Chuan and we were like talking and talking and talking. Joked with Beatrice and Rachel too, until some people in Bunk A went to "SHH!" us. Still no fire alarm...

11 June 2006

Today is like one of my toughest day. We had all the normal morning stuff and a dry lecture on Brigade Form (I got to admit, I hate admin stuff!). Then it was character building a.k.a triage! Some people were called out to become casualty while the rest of us were told to stay in our bunks. The officers started to blow long and continuous blow which means FIRE! Expected all these but I really hate to run up and down that steep 4 storeys. The first round was unsuccessful so we had to rush back to our bunks again. They blew the whistle again. I was like playing around with Theng Boon then went to the canteen to save Glen from the burning tables and chairs afterwhich I was assigned to take on a crazy mother who beared many children. HAHA. It was fun. Triage ended about 20minutes later. Had lunch then MOI. Actually, I blew my MOI. I mean I was barely prepared and I was shocked when Sir Derrick could actually make so many comments which he could have told us earlier on. I didn't expect so many things yet it was all thrown on my face that day. You see, mental torture again. Following it was campfire preparation. My section was incharge of it and when we see the logs and the logs stare back at us on the sloping parade ground, my thoughts were that our plan ain't working out. In the end the officers helped us and what I did was only to transport the sand. Did enjoy myself during campfire. It was sooooooooooo fun! I loved the skit by Section 2, the imitation of Staff Kah Meng. MAIN SUB MAIN SUB MAIN SUB! I was laughing to tears I tell you. Also, we were like pushing Joan and Stenphel to be together throughout the whole night and that's FUN! BOM CHIKA BOM! My group volunteered to do forfeit which we didn't do in the end. Soon, it came to a closesure. Sad...

12 June 2006

Early in the morning fall in and got scolding and pumping. There was some serious issue on the orange T-shirts. Someone had mistakenly (or stolen) someone elses' shirt. Another orange shirt was found with a brief inside the orange shirt, and I've got to tell you, the brief ain't clean.Later on the nursing cadets ran back to our bunks and cleaned up. After that slacked a bit while the ambulance were 1 level below us, being punished. Investigation were held to find the Hanson Mint brand undies. I heard they were punished until 1am the day before. Poor things. On the other hand, the ladies were outside the nursing bunks we were playing Who What Huh game then loser cleans the toilet. The whistle went again, time for fall in! Need to clean other classrooms again then blah blah blah. Section 3 go cover sand pit, did Kallang pumpings. Went back to assemble in the 2nd floor. Did PT and not 660 pumpings. Sir Derrick taught us the Comando style of PT, guranteed to have nice arms after that. HAHA. It was fun! I enjoyed it and pain is good. Everyone gathered back at the Atrium at around 11.15am. They gave strict warnings that if the culprit still doesn't reveal himself, then all of us will fail ANCO. I gave a suggestion that all the male cadets go in 1 by 1 and tell the officer if they did it or not. We have no other choice. Meanwhile, we do something fun! All the rumours that popped out, came out. 2 of the funniest would be the dance of Freedie and Jane! There was also a photoshoot especially for Reuben and Lin Qian! LMAO. Then Lunch, our last meal together in camp. *SOB SOB* POP was not entirely cancelled afterall. They called us to change into Full U then blah blah blah. During the parade, it was scorching HOT. Whew. What a test by Heaven. Then tralalala. Debrief was kinda fun as well. A time when we give all our funny comments and stuff. Stenphel you talk too much! Reuben, you are too greedy! HAHA. I guess it's sayonara to Section 3. *SOB SOB*

Also special thanks to all our logistic NCO (Wee Liang, Jerilyn, Atika and Pricilla), Admin (Wei Fen and the rest didn't memorise), Safety (Jing Ying, Samantha, Jasmine and ?) All the sirs and mdms who made the camp possible, thanks!

P.S: Whoever have the ANCO camp videos, please send me! Any Section 3 photos too!
so come on, tell me.

Shawn Lee and Joshua Ang is in KSS' canteen!
OMG! I'm so glad I went to school today. Had to teach the Sec1s how to wear their full uniform and stuff before they go for their air rifle course. GUESS WHAT? SHAWN LEE AND JOSHUA ANG was in our school's canteen, filming! WAA HOO!. Rach was like faster come to school! Then I was like I'm stuck at the bus stop! They were HAWT. Beautified our canteen. Without them, it's like a bleak, desolated and dark canteen. WAHAHA. I'm so looking forward to another day of seeing them! PLEASEEEEEEE!
so come on, tell me.

FAC 2006
Today is the Zone 10's First Aid Competition 2006. My team NC5 (for the day) got 5th, so we didn't bring back any trophy and therefore my trophy cabinet is still EMPTY! Let's flashback"

Woke up at 6am when I'm suppose to meet my team at 6.45am. I started to scream because I haven't even polish my boots! My dad woke up and started to help me polish it too. Did everything quickly and reached school at around 7am. Did a bit of footdrill and changed into Full U. My first day as a CSM and I totally suck. Officers, you have to be patient with me. HEHE. My seed is still germinating. Ok anyways, boarded on the bus, crashed course and blah blah blah. Draw my tag no and I got 5, kinda liked it because it's rather neutral. Moving on, my 1st stop was footdrill. Did alright ba, didn't made major mistakes because the boundary was so much larger than I expected! RAH! Then we waited and had lunch. Fried rice, so didn't eat it. Up next was nursing. We cork up big time, they didn't even come out our team's forte. Look like heaven wasn't on our side. *SOBS* First aid was the last one and it was 50/50. Might have hope yet must have ruin it. We were free at last. Sze Him and my appetite was huge. We ate 1 box of chicken and 1 box of prawns. We were also making a hell lot of horny jokes. Hope it didn't scare the teams infront and behind us. When we were in a midst of joking, a boy near me collapse and was hyperventing. I was shocked. Zhen Shun was like trying to calm him down so that he can regain his breathing. I called him to cup his hands so that he can breath his own exhaled air. So glad I helped. Later on Serene and Zhen Shun carried the boy out. Poor thing. It's a good thing that he was at HQ, where plenty of ambulance are waiting.
The results was a long wait. The GOH came so late and my legs were like numbed. This year wasn't a very glory year for KSS but nevermind, we'll strike back! WA HOO!

Ate at LJS. Was dozing away while waiting for SH they all to help me buy. Reached home and found our that my internet connection got prob, can't access to MSN. GRRR.
so come on, tell me.

Siam Kitchen vists NDP training!
Hmm. Today's NDP training was relatively ok. Not as boring as the previous time as I had a "case" to investigate. HAHAHA. So fun! I'm really looking forward to the concusion. Putting that aside, I was really mad, furious and my blood was definately boiling when I found out this thing and was forced to come for today's NDP training when FAC is tommorrow! WTH?! It was all good when the food came, SIAM KITCHEN! Shiok man, the chicken, the fish, the mushroom and the rice. I so don't want PizzaHut to sponser us man. Did a few trails, today was at the National Stadium. HEHE. On the first run, my specs actually slipped and 1 of the Navy officer came and told me that my dressing was slightly out, then out of desperation, I actually asked him to help my adjust my specs! HAH! Training ended quite early (whew!) and reached home around 7pm?
so come on, tell me.
